Abstarct – The system centers on an Arduino or ESP32 microcontroller acting as the brain. When you press a key (0-9) on the IR remote, it emits a modulated infrared light signal at a specific frequency (usually 38kHz). An IR Receiver (like the TSOP1838) captures this light and converts it into a digital hex code, which the microcontroller decodes using a library like IRremote.h. Inside the code, a switch-case or if-else block maps these hex codes to specific speed values. Since a BLDC motor cannot be driven directly by a microcontroller due to high current demands, an Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) is used. The microcontroller sends a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal to the ESC, mimicking the signal used for servo motors. Pressing ‘0’ sets the throttle to 0%, while ‘9’ pushes it to 100%. The ESC then switches the three-phase power from a LiPo battery to the motor’s coils, creating a rotating magnetic field that spins the rotor. The higher the PWM duty cycle sent by the Arduino, the faster the ESC switches the phases, and the faster the motor spins.
