Abstarct – The Smart Smiling Dustbin is an interactive waste-management model that automatically opens when a person approaches using IR sensors. If waste is properly thrown inside, the OLED display shows a smiling emoji, while failure to dispose of waste after waiting shows a sad emoji. An Arduino/ESP8266 controls the IR sensors, servo motor, and OLED display, powered by two 3.7V batteries with a 5V converter. The complete model is designed on a plywood base with miniature houses, artificial trees, grasses, roads, and other decorative elements.
