Abstarct – This smart prepaid energy meter utilizes an Arduino microcontroller to manage power consumption by integrating a Bluetooth module for wireless recharging and load control via a dedicated Android app. A Current Transformer (CT) on the phase line monitors real-time load, enabling an auto-overload cutoff that triggers a Solid State Relay (SSR) to disconnect power if a preset limit is exceeded. To prevent energy theft, a second CT is placed on the neutral line to detect tampering by identifying current imbalances between phase and neutral, prompting the system to trip for protection. The LCD display provides real-time feedback on remaining credit, power usage, and system status, while a buzzer offers audible alerts for low balance, overload, or tampering events. Users can wirelessly toggle the load status through the app, which communicates via Bluetooth to provide a seamless interface for energy management. The SSR ensures high-speed, silent switching of the AC load, making the device more durable and reliable than traditional mechanical relays. This comprehensive setup provides anti-theft security, automated billing, and protection against electrical hazards within a single integrated unit. By digitizing the metering process, the system minimizes manual intervention and ensures efficient energy distribution for smart home applications.
