Abstract – This Arduino-based project is a 3-Phase Transmission Line Fault Detection and Protection System designed to monitor electrical parameters and safeguard equipment from damage. The system utilizes an Arduino microcontroller interfaced with an I2C LCD for real-time status display and sensors for current, voltage, and fault switching. It monitors three phases (Red, Yellow, Blue) for specific anomalies, including ground faults (via pins L6–L8), line-to-line faults (via pins L4–L5), and overload conditions using analog sensors (rct, yct, bct). Additionally, it features a voltage monitoring circuit that calculates values through a mapping function to detect over/under-voltage and a fire detection sensor on pin L9. When a fault is triggered (detected as a LOW signal on digital pins or an analog value exceeding a threshold), the system outputs a warning to the LCD and Serial monitor. Crucially, it then enters a protection() routine that activates a buzzer and triggers three relays to instantly cut off the power supply, effectively isolating the grid from the fault. The code uses an infinite goto loop within the protection function to ensure the power remains cut until the system is manually reset, providing a fail-safe mechanism against persistent electrical hazards.
