Abstarct – This smart bridge monitoring system integrates multiple safety mechanisms using an Arduino. Two separate metal plates act as a crack detector – any widening gap breaks the circuit, triggering an alert. A piezo sensor serves as the earthquake detector by measuring vibrations exceeding safe thresholds. For overload monitoring, strategically placed switches activate under excessive weight. The system processes all inputs through the Arduino, which controls the output components. When any hazard is detected, a red LED illuminates and a buzzer sounds an alarm. Simultaneously, a servo motor closes a gate barrier to prevent access. An LCD screen displays the specific fault (crack, earthquake, or overload) for immediate identification. Under normal, safe conditions, a green LED remains lit, indicating the bridge is operational. This provides a comprehensive, automated safety solution for infrastructure monitoring.
