Abstract – This smart cloth dryer project uses an Arduino board powered by a portable 3.7V rechargeable lithium battery (often boosted to 5V) to automatically protect drying clothes from unexpected rainfall. The rain sensor constantly checks for water droplets by detecting changes in electrical resistance across its sensing plate. When raindrops fall on the sensor, it immediately sends a signal to the Arduino microcontroller to trigger an action. The Arduino then processes this signal and activates the attached mini servo motor to rotate a set number of degrees. This motor movement mechanically pulls the clothes rack under a roof or extends a protective plastic cover over the wet clothes to keep them dry.
