Sugarcane and Rice Straw to Ethanol Power – Waste management

Current price is: Rs.3,800.00. Original price was: Rs.4,800.00.

Product Description

A pioneering project explores the conversion of agricultural waste, specifically sugarcane bagasse and rice straw, into renewable energy. First, these abundant lignocellulosic materials undergo pre-treatment to break down their tough structure. Enzymes are then added to hydrolyze the cellulose, converting it into fermentable sugars like glucose. This sugar-rich broth is fermented using specialized yeast, which metabolizes the sugars to produce ethanol. The resulting ethanol is then purified and concentrated through a distillation process to create a high-purity biofuel. This bio-ethanol is subsequently utilized as a clean-burning fuel in a modified generator or turbine. The combustion of ethanol within the engine generates mechanical energy, which is ultimately converted into electrical power by an alternator. This sustainable cycle effectively transforms field residue into valuable electricity, reducing waste and fossil fuel dependence.
